OK, I was in a couple of musicals in high school, and while it was never quite as exciting as the Disneyfied big screen experience we’ve all seemingly been unable to avoid, it was always something of a blast.

It was not, I have to assume, as cool as being part of With The Needle That Sings in Her Heart. Put on by Boston’s Lexington High School, the show is part Anne Frank fantasy, part musical inspired by In The Aeroplane Over the Sea, which is in my book a serious contender for Best Album Ever. With Dresden Doll Amanda Palmer working with students it’s a pretty one of a kind production, and to hear The Bostonist tell it, a pretty phenomenal one. Here’s hoping this thing starts making the rounds and gets to a theatre near you (or me) sometime soon.
