A young girl in Tennessee is dead after shooting herself with a loaded handgun, which she had apparently mistaken for the gun-shaped Wii controller that she often played with. The Smith & Wesson handgun was usually kept locked up, but had been briefly left out and neglected on a living room table, where a child expects to find a video game controller, rather than a deadly firearm.

I don’t even know what to say about this one except that if you feel you must have a loaded gun around the house, please, please, please do not ever leave that loaded gun where your three-year-old child might ever conceivably get their hands on it.
